Beyond the Symptoms: Transforming Care Through a Root-Cause Approach

“Programs like this matter because they offer support beyond just funding. They come with guidance, connections, and resources that help with business planning and strategic growth.” – Taylor Wright

When Taylor Wright opened “Elevate Health” in McCook in 2023, her vision was clear: to bring a comprehensive, compassionate approach to healthcare in the community. With a Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Taylor founded Elevate Health—along with the guidance and teamwork of Erica Ellicot, PA-C—on the belief that true wellness goes beyond treating symptoms. By blending traditional western medicine with functional and integrative care, the practice focuses on helping patients understand why they feel the way they do and how to improve their overall quality of life.

“Owning my own practice allows me to really pinpoint care and provide compassion to those I serve,” Taylor shared. “I want to help people get well—not just manage symptoms.”

Starting a business in today’s economy comes with challenges, high interest rates and financing options can be daunting. Taylor first learned about the Micro-Enterprise Loan Program through a local connection and quickly realized it could be the right fit.

With support from the micro-enterprise loan and a grant from the Nebraska Business Development Center, Taylor was able to fund operations and build her patient base while working in the previous location and now newly constructed Elevate Wellness facilities. These resources allowed her to grow without the pressure and costs that come with traditional financing.

For Taylor, the impact of the Micro-Enterprise Loan Program was significant. “Without these programs, I may not have been able to start my business. I also love knowing this is a revolving fund—it creates opportunity for other small businesses to grow too.”

Today, Elevate Health offers a wide range of services, including functional and integrative medicine, weight management, hormone management, pediatric care, IV vitamin therapy, ultrasound-guided joint injections, and regenerative medicine such as platelet-rich plasma therapy. The practice offers cash-pay options and accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.

As a working mother, Taylor is especially proud to provide healthcare services that truly care about families and their experiences. “These services are an investment in your overall well-being,” she said.

Together, Erica Ellicot PA-C & Taylor Wright APRN-FNP-C serve patients from Southwest Nebraska and beyond, sharing their passion for helping patients improve their health and overall quality of life.

The intent of the Micro-Enterprise Loan Program is to support Nebraska-based businesses in rural and urban communities by fostering business growth, creating higher-paying jobs, and expanding quality employment opportunities. Program funds are made possible through a grant awarded by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
