What is this event about?
In 2023, Nebraska lawmakers passed the Child Care Tax Credit Act and the School Readiness Tax Credit Act. These tax credits are intended to strengthen our state’s child care system, encourage private sector contributions to child care and reduce financial pressures on families with children under age 5, especially those in greatest need. These credits go into effect with the 2024 tax year, so it’s time to get the word out.
Join us on Monday, August 19 to learn more about how you and your organization can get involved.
Who should attend?
This event is for potential messaging partners interested in sharing information about these tax credits with families, child care providers and others in their community. We especially encourage organizations that communicate regularly with a variety of constituents, members, clients and other contacts. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Agencies providing support to early childhood programs and professionals
• Nonprofits and civic organizations serving families, especially those in need
• Tax preparation consultants and accountancy services
• School administrators
• Public libraries and other municipal entities
• Chambers of commerce and employers
• Economic and community development organizations
