MEDC Announces New Executive Director

KirkMcCook Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce the hiring of its new Executive Director Kirk Dixon.  Kirk comes to McCook and the MEDC as a visionary and dynamic leader with executive experience that has included business development, large scale organizational change, brand and culture development, strategic communications, business networking events and promotions, real estate management, and community development support involving entrepreneurs, corporations, colleges and universities, not for profits and the media.

Kirk Dixon plans his first day on the job here in McCook on April 18th spending the time between now and then relocating and preparing for his new role.

When asked about this opportunity, Dixon said “McCook is an amazing community with a proud heritage of excellence, service, and community involvement. I consider the opportunity to work with area leaders serving the residents of McCook and Red Willow County a privilege.”

Jim Ulrich, MEDC Board President says “We are thrilled for Kirk to get started as Executive Director.   With his depth of executive experience, leadership, and passion for strategic planning and development the future looks bright for economic development and overall community growth.  The city of McCook is fortunate to bring this talented individual to our southwest Nebraska town.”

Dixon adds, “I appreciate the Boards confidence in me and how my experiences will benefit McCook’s economic development and community growth plans moving forward.  I am energized to help the community and partnering organizations carve out a 10 year plan with priorities for McCook we are all excited about.”

“I also look forward to joining the McCook community to strengthen and diversify our economic base by: Leveraging existing assets, attracting new investment, creating new business opportunities, and exploring ways to continually improve McCook and Red Willow County as a business and retail destination.” Dixon concludes.
