Homebuyer Education Course

Homebuyer Education Classes are offered throughout the year in an effort to encourage responsible home-ownership. The class is held at McCook Economic Development Corporation’s training room in the Keystone Business Center, Suite 302 at 402 Norris Avenue.

Featured guest speakers include professionals in real estate, insurance, home maintenance and lending. The course is an excellent opportunity to hear directly from the professional and to ask any questions that you may have about the home buying process.

This course is based upon the nationally recognized programs of Neighborhood Reinvestment Training Institute and REACH (Readiness Education Awareness Collaborative for Homebuyers Homeowners) a curriculum based on 16 Uniform Standards developed through the Nebraska Housing Developers Association.

Registration Fee:

$35.00 per household.

  • Choosing the right home.
  • Understanding the roles of the professionals involved.
  • The rights and the responsibilities of the consumer.

  • Obtaining a mortgage loan.

Completing MEDC Homebuyer Education Course will fulfill the education requirement for NIFA, USDA, FHLBank and other government home loans.
